All these years we have closely co-operated with the central and local authorities, and in particular with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Municipalities of Kefalonia and Zakynthos (ex-Prefectures) and all the ex-Municipalities of the islands. We also worked with the relevant Competent Units, such as the Development Companies, the Local Unions of Municipalities, the Fisheries Departments, the Directorates of Education, the Coast Guard, the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, etc.

We co-operated with the Universities of Athens, Piraeus, Thessaly, Munich, Portsmouth and Venice, with the Agricultural University of Athens as also with several research institutions such as the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR), the Greek Biotope/Wetland Center (EKBY), the Helmholtz Ιnstitut München – German Research Center for Environmental Health and the Institute of Marine Biology in Montenegro.

We co-operated in a number of issues with Greek and foreign NGOs such as WWF International, WWF Greece, the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), the «Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal» (HSSPMS/MOm), the «Mediterranean Association to Save the Sea Turtles» (MEDASSET), the Spanish NGO «CBD Habitat», the British NGO «Greek Animal Welfare Fund» (GAWF), the Italian «Tethys Institute», the Greek «Pelagos Cetacean Research Institute», the Kefalonia and Ithaca Foundation (IKI), the «European Network of Organic Agriculture Students» (ENOAS), etc. as well as with local NGOs, and the Fishermen’s Associations in particular.

Our most stable and closest co-operation, however has been, from the very beginning of our activities –and still is– the co-operation with professional fishermen.

Without their knowledge and help we would not be able to carry out several of our activities.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank them once again!
